I saw this story. People are so funny about numbers and the like, IMHO. Who cares? It will still be a really tall tree…

That took some serious, um, fortitude to climb a burning tree. Looks like they were climbing the actual tree itself, not some adjacent tree and then pendulum over. You don’t see much in the way of goosepen or hollowed out burned Doug Firs, like you do redwoods. I’ve seen too many tops come out of trees to want to be attached to one like that while it’s burning.
