ALERTWest - Hamaker One hell of a pyrocumulus cloud on this fire… This one is in Southern Oregon, between Upper Klamath Lake and the Bootleg scar from 2021. It started sometime yesterday afternoon, and as of 10 am this morning, was around 3,100 acres. The cloud is visible on cameras as far away as Lassen County, around 110 miles to the south of the fire.

Updated perimeter has the fire at 8700 acres and shows some long range spotting out ahead of the fire. Caltopo shows no significant fire history out ahead of this, besides one fire from 1987.
