Passing of Retired BEU Assistant Chief Phil Matteson
It is with much sadness that I must inform you that Chief Phil Matteson passed away early this morning.
Chief Matteson was a respected and beloved member of the BEU family, who was a friend and mentor to many.
Please keep the Matteson family in your thoughts during this difficult time
He was a great guy and will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace Chief 
Yup could always put a smile on your face when we were in the trenches of an IMT deployment. Glad to have worked for the man.
The best neighbor ever! He schooled me in all things fire- it was his passion, his life and he loved to talk about it! He loved his Cal Fire brothers too.
