Posting

All,

As we begin to get an uptick in fires, please take some time to review the terms of service and the expectations of posting either an IA or Q&D thread. Multiple discussions can be found searching the general discussion and help thread. For starters, see below.

If there are units at scene and a confirmed size up has been given, by all means post an IA thread. However, the idea here is not posting an IA for every 1/4 acre fire. Think potential of the fire.

If units are still enroute, making access, or you don’t have sufficient info to start an IA thread (IE name, acres, rate of spread, etc) then a Q and D thread is the place to start.

Topic Titles:

When creating a new topic for discussion it is important to think about your title. If you are not posting in a region discussion there is no format for topic titles, try to use a title that summarizes your topic of discussion. However, if you are creating a topic for a new or ongoing fire(Initial Attack or Continuing Fire subcategories) there is a specific format we like to follow:

2 letter state ID - 3 letter designator for the agency with jurisdiction - fire name if known
For example, CA-LPF-Pozo(California, Los Padres National Forest, Pozo Fire)

If you want to post in the Questions/Discussions subcategory regarding a fire use the above format with β€˜???’ at the end.

For example, CA-LPF-Pozo???

Thank you for reviewing and have a safe season.
