Here is a thread to use for posting information on resources responding to active incidents. Use the Move up and Cover thread if you are not responding to an actice incident.
My opinion … I like to see who’s going to what fires on the fire thread. Get to see people I know and all. Now I have to look in multiple threads and it’s just an extra step… too many rules and prob will use this site less… just an opinion

I like the idea, I think it can be annoying sometimes that XXXXA is responding from such and such op area.

If your not tracking resources it can be annoying. If you are tracking some it’s real nice.

My opinion is keep it to a minimum and keep it in the q & d thread. It’s annoying seeing IA/continuing thread with 50 strike team assignment posts and no actual fire update. I gets annoying like when people start posting every vlat drop. Maybe post an actual number of strike teams being ordered like on old site during the telegraph fire blow up leading to a 75+ immediate need strike team order, it would get really annoying reading 75 strike team assignments before a post on what the fire is doing.

Yes exactly! This page is for fire information, not what strike team is driving up and down the state… if we did that we could send all summer posting how much calfire moves resources… so let’s focus on the fire information…

We all like seeing our friends on fires. But are going to be their whether or not they post their travel. IMHO those posts are off topic.

I’m cool with posting on the q and d side (??) For resources. Put the aircraft there also!
Social media is a good place to see where your friends are going. It is irrelevant info who is going to the show.
I just feel for some reason people are getting nit picky. May be because of the super slow season we have had to this point. There are two things that drive me nuts on these forums. One being “does anyone have the IAP or a link” and “is there a team ordered yet” on every fire. With that being said, I just let it roll on by and keep scrolling. It’s not a big enough deal to have to complain about it. Obviously it is important to some, and what is important to them, may not be important to you and I. If scrolling past a few ST posts bothers someone that bad, maybe this isn’t the place for them. Everyone comes here for information, and information about a particular incident should be in that incident. That is the reason for an IA thread and a Q&D thread. IA should be more about the actual incident conditions, actions, and requests and the Q&D thread for all other info. Again, my .02 cents, and thus far tonight, .04 cents total.

The old forum we never needed this thread cause it went in the q and a. If you all get off air craft logistics and other non incident related posts the resource response wouldnt be a problem.
