Due to a recent spree of arsons and hate crimes, a contentious and hostile political situation, and the near entrapment at Borel, I encourage FFs, LEOs and Marshals to be alert for stalkers, looters and other suspicious persons and circumstances with a heightened level of vigilance and readiness. (I know, sounds sorta stiff, but there isn’t a lot of time for thorough editing.)
And the threatening phone calls. All of the above-mentioned has happened. The initial attack IC on the Creek fire got put on Facebook blast then people started threatening him and his family.
No special occasion or circumstances change the fact that un-nicery happens in evac zones and that is the last thing a displaced human should have to worry about. You know how hard it is to get folk to leave in the 1st place…
Yeah, I do know something about that…and how some people think they are wiser than victim’s services.
As we know, or should, jumping to conclusions about the cause of a fire can result in false arrest and perpetrators getting away with it.
Procedures for securing and preserving evidence at the suspected location of a fire’s origin are necessary, not only for fire science, but also justice.
The 458-acre McCaffery Fire that led to evacuations and forced the temporary closure of the Redmond Municipal Airport airfield three weeks ago was started by someone who was target shooting.
The Bureau of Land Management confirmed that information to Central Oregon Daily News Monday. No suspects have been named.
The fire started on July 6 and quickly spread, leading to Level 2 and Level 3 evacuations in Deschutes and Crook counties. The airfield at RDM was closed for about three hours that evening.
Some had initially cast blame for the fire on the homeless population.
Don’t confuse poverty, political dissidence, and trafficking. While there may be overlap in some individual cases, it doesn’t serve us well to assume that homelessness is necessarily a result of political dissidence or being ideologically opposed to Homeland Security. Political dissidence, for example, advocating for a Motherland, or a Fatherland, in itself alone, is not a crime, but the consequences of it may pertain to motive, in some cases, right? This is why some writers prefer the term, “unhoused”, although this term can also be misused or misunderstood.
…and, to be frank, we all know the consequences of somebody smoking a Firehawk, C-130, or any other aircraft over the USA, with a weapon or by cyber-attack, are going to be severe. Don’t be that guy.
