Three to Four feet in Twain Harte they just now got power restored today at my kids house. They were out of power six days. Every time they would get a pole or line fixed another tree would take out another one down the way. See how much the snow absorbs the water from this next storm.

We got over 5.5 inches of rain and one inch of snow here in Sonora.

NDFD Forecast Min/Max and Departure from Average

It’s kind of crazy, both for the temps and also being ~20 degrees above average for much of the southwest. Will be interesting to see how the year develops.

They either burn or they get smashed by trees.

Every Edison canal I worked on burned eventually.

This has happened many times over the years with heavy snowfall. You will see TUD employees with what looks like straighten out mcleod fire tool and shovels breaking ice up in the flume to keep water flowing.

@anvilhead any Long range weather forecast for March yet?
For some odd ball reason I’m seeing tanned grass patches instead of green along ridges in a North South alignment. Central Sierras
Thanks

SoCal NWS has been saying no rain for the first 14 days of March.

Santa Ana wind event next weekend. Potentially damaging. I posted last fall that I was expecting an early spring, and I think we are going to get it. We will probably run back one more good rain event later in March or early April followed by another heatwave. Exceptional vegetation growth.

Update: the long range models show strong ridging over us during the next 10-12 days. Potentially record breaking atmospheric heights for this time of year, and if the models verify a record long duration heat wave for March. It’s a little far out, but the models do well with ridging over us in the longer term versus troughing. It will be interesting to see what happens when the ridge breaks down, possibly an exceptionally strong offshore wind event or a return to a quick hitting rain event.
