Can someone from Vallejo explain why CIIMT5 was told to stay in Sac all day and watch the Sierra NF Creek Fire burn while a fed team arrives from the Rocky Basin?

Yes please. Iād love to hear the logic behind that decision. With only 4 - Type 1 Fed Teams in the state, it seems the local knowledge would be more beneficial on a new start in CA . . . and let the Great Basin Team (from ID, UT, and NV) take over the CA-TGU (Elkhorn) Lightning Fires that have been burning for 2+ weeks. No disrespect, just curious. The immediate danger to life and property was imminent within the first hour or two of the Creek Fire. Anyone in the know . . . please help explain. Thanks

California Team 5 (Federal) did not stage in Sacramento. We in-briefed on the Windy fire yesterday, shadowing today, and will take the fire at 0700 tomorrow (9-24-21)
