I was on the Chaparral Fire on Saturday and saw some of the most amazing, erratic fire behavior I’ve ever seen and I’ve been with CF for 13 years. And that fire behavior was in the absence of any exceptional weather anomalies. I am sincerely concerned down here in SoCal for the next 3-4 months! With the forecast of a slight La Nina, the state of the fuels and the forecast for higher than average offshore events, things could get scary if the Santa Ana’s show up as expected. A repeat of 2003-2007 might, unfortunately be in cards 
I will post this again for anybody who missed it. This video is real time and in no way timelapsed or sped up! Imagine this fire in 2 months with 5% RH and NE winds of 35-55 MPH
