Modoc NF opens tomorrow.

Any word on klamath or mendo?

With the fires there, I wouldn’t expect a decision from them until the current order ends on the 21st.

The Tahoe NF is opening tomorrow as well, but with no open flames of any type, including cook stoves, and no dispersed camping until October 18th.

I see nothing on the Forest or Regional webpage indicating that the Modoc Forest is opening before the order expires. It looks to me like it’s still subject to Regional Order 20-13. Where are you getting your information?

And there it is. Thanks much. Still no campfires though.

I stand corrected. The Mendocino is opening, the Klamath is not.

Is BLM land closed also?

Mendo is not open for many uses including hunting. Basically open to landowners with a permit. Don’t have time to research them all, but I’d guess any forest with a fire will stay closed. Here’s the link for the mendo
