What if we could make it rain on wildfires?

Do wildfires create rain and change the weather?

I have often thought, why couldn’t we create rainstorms over fires using smoke and ash?

Wildfires often create their own towering smoke clouds, filled with ash and particles that naturally attract water. By combining this with cloud-seeding agents—like silver iodide or salt—delivered by planes or drones, we could speed up raindrop formation and trigger localized rain directly over the fire zone. This approach blends nature’s process with proven weather-modification methods, offering a promising new tool to help suppress fires and protect communities.

I would be interested in your thoughts on this, I am sure I am not the first to ponder this. Pyro clouds being so dangerous would be hard to fly but we have drones now, and hydro cannons.

It should be tried. I couldn’t find any studies posted online where it had been attempted.

Imo..
I dont think Wx manipulation is as straight forward as a layperson like myself feels or thinks it is.
I dont like the idea of spraying additional chemicals (beyond what is already being introduced by all sorts of means/manners) into the atmosphere.
Humans - USA specifically - have a record of trying things and failing spectacularly when it comes to manipulating the atmosphere for all sorts of “well intended” reasons - improve communications, safer spaceflight, warfare, etc.

I find the information being shared by this person and some others to be useful and enlightening when it comes to this subject.

Edit: There are many examples & links to real documentation and real intel in the link i shared above. I promise It is worthwhile to explore them if serious about this topic. #veryenlightening #notfakenews #veryserious

Still have old school guys cancel clouds like cancelling water tenders :joy:

For purposes of this discussion, let’s say that cloud seeding was feasible. That might solve the short term issue on a large fire, however, in doing so that further compounds the real issue of what is driving these large fires, which is the ever increasing fuel loads.

Now that the subject is out in open it is important to understand that wx modification and planning takes weeks if not months due to the set up required. It is not as simple as making it rain by increasing the amount of condensation nuclei, you have to have a moisture source, modify the pattern etc. It is a large scale advent…
