FKU had another fire in the Sky Harbor/Table Mountain area. I couldn’t find a camera covering it. Was there was something at Copper Peak.
Owens mountain.
Thrilled that Indian Ridge stood up to the run on it today. Hope the supporting hardware/cabling isn’t too badly cooked and it continues to perform.
Nice…
7 new webcams operational today.

I just noticed in the Beta version… when using the tile display feature, I can click on an individual tile and it’ll open that cam in full screen mode. And closing out of full screen returns me to the tile display. This is a feature I had really hoped for. Now when looking at a display page, if something noteworthy is happening on any particular cam, it’s super quick and easy to take a closer look. Brilliant. This Beta version keeps getting better!
Glad you like it. Still working out the bugs, hence the Beta. A lot of people asked for it and we are trying to deliver on that feedback. All a part of continuous improvement.
First, site just keeps on getting better. But my question is some sites offer 4 direction views, most notable are HPWREN cameras. Was wondering if the decision to limit each site to one view was because of limiting space on server or something else? Also not every site from HPWREN is being shown. Again space or least viewed? Not complaining, I’ll take what I can get. Deeply appreciate what you guys have done.

I’ll echo that, I have wondered for years why unstaffed lookout towers don’t have 360° panoramic HD cameras just fixed in place at all times.
You could program some sort of computer routine to know exactly what normal looks like, and then set an alarm whenever something like smoke starts to rise.
Then somebody at dispatch or a central location could hone in on it and decide whether to take action.
There are twitterbots that do this on all of these cams.

We are hoping to get this feed into ATAK and have it turn on the Field of View on the map so you would know which cams have active fire in them. As soon as we have our 2 cams up i have been told we will have access to some sort of API. Everything we have in ATAK now is basically reverse engineered by some really smart guys but ultimately we want full access to have live FOV and to do things like this.
Its nice to have collaboration like this. Someone running AI/ML triggering notifications in another programs video feed that gets watched in a 3rd party software.
i scrolled through this whole post but may have missed it, how can we toggle to flir? i cant find that option anywhere
awesome thank you!
Anvilhead, that FLIR camera has been so useful! Thanks so much for the link!
Surprised nobody has driven the Hayfork Divide cameras. May have missed some opportunity watch the Monument Fire hit the comm site and lookout across the bowl today. (Both saved and good). The cameras are on the east side of the bowl there, with fire coming up to it. Can we get those steered around?
Looks like timing may be the saving grace for Hayfork2 Cams. Not out of the woods yet (well, technically they are ‘out in the woods’), but it seems that the relatively low intensity fire is impacting the site.
Anyone know iif the fire seen on Haystack cam (Shasta & Modoc) is a new start?
