The appalling lack of pre fire prevention around the lodge is something that needs to be worked on. NPS has long history of destroying its heritage structures for no reason

Sadly to say the least as I flew AA over there on lightning recon back in 2019.
Being a retired FC I observed that area design for a disaster with very limited defensible space around the structures.
Told my AA pilot “it’s not if it burns, but when it all burns one day”
