There are two DC 10 VLATS on the tarmac at McClellan right now. Perhaps they’re on their days off?
They could be commited to the Park, but either way they usually don’t start until 0900… Or so I’m told
The ship( Cal Fire Copter) is headed that way. Wouldn’t surprise me if the two S2’s head up that too.
Based out of Columbia.
No fire hx in that area other than the King. The Chili bar fire in the late 70s ran into a portion of the community. Essentially 1 way in and out on Rock Creek as already noted. One way in on FS roads but very difficult to access unless you are a local. The preplan for further evacs is to shelter in place at the airport.
So far 3 s2s out of redding, 1 Erickson out of mcc,
4 copters,
They are making a huge push to hit that hard this morning, looks like dozers did some good work on the heel, but if/when that gets established in that canyon, could be some huge problems

Looking optimistic on the camera. Obviously tons of potential however very mild appearance from smoke production.
Sounds like it’s holding within containment lines except for a small slop they think they can catch with resources at scene
Lots of fresh smoke on the ElDorado 1 camera - it’s not done yet.
And thank you Penitentes for the tile setup.
75 acre slop over.
75 acre slop over on a 180 acre fire?
Information was from watchduty citing radio traffic.
245 acres according to Cal Fire Website. Most of the burning is on the west side of the fire.
