This is one stubborn fire. They could be the next Caldor yet. Yikes.
It has a west south west wind on it which will push it into the king fire burn scar and spi ground, that is actively being logged.
The camera paints a pretty picture of a green and lustrous forest, but what it does not show is the 100+ years of dead and down with several feet of Duff. Control efforts along with inevitable spot fires will be challenging. This is going to be a long and tough fight.
KCRA is live over the fire again. Looks pretty active
Looking from my house in Sonora, thought it was the Park at first until I saw the Danaher Cam. That fire went south in a hurry.
Fire appears to have spotted across the drainage at the toe of the slope.
Copters are working it.
They’re hiting it hard
saying 3-4 acres across.
New spot mid slope taking off
Another spot on the next slope.
Looks like 2-3 spots at the toe and 1 midslope now
This thing’s getting away.
I think it’s safe to say it’s well established on the other side and will be making a hard run here shortly.
Doesn’t matter. It’s getting away from them. This one’s gonna get big.
Above 2 photos from the old SPI mill in Camino, 1815 hours. Might be a long night?
