ELECTRA INCIDENT UPDATE FOR 7/17/22
There was a slight increase of fire activity yesterday deep within the fire perimeter. Large areas of unburned, brush flared up creating visible columns of smoke. Resources were on site to mitigate any fire spread.

A type 2 helicopter has been working with ground crews to keep the fire activity well within the fire perimeter. There is a possibility of similar activity today. Firefighters continue patrolling and mopping up hot spots and smoldering stump holes.

Fire suppression repair is ongoing.
All evacuation orders for populated areas in Amador and Calaveras Counties have been lifted. Roads leading to the perimeter of the fire remain closed.

Lots of pockets of green in some of that dirty burn. They will be messing with that for weeks on and off. I will say they keep going after it for 100% mop up. Over 100 the next couple of days in there it won’t be fun. Some long hikes with Back pumps in the days ahead in that river canyon.

ELECTRA INCIDENT UPDATE FOR 7/20/22
Although fire activity has decreased, thermal imaging of the fire detected heat in isolated islands of dense vegetation. High temperatures, low humidity, and steep, rugged terrain continue to pose a challenge for firefighters as they make access to mop up the smokes identified on the steep slopes within the fire perimeter. Firefighters will continue to patrol the area until all identified hot spots are extinguished.
