Maybe there prepping to fire out the drainage while weather permits?
Is the activity picking up again?
Bear Creek drainage to Clarkâs Grade has been a challenge for crews. Slowly chunking away in rough country.
Thatâs pretty much what it looked like yesterday, too.
Much more significant then yesterdays increases.
Wouldnât be surprised to see another 3500 acres
Theyâve got good contingencies and if weather permits be able to fire out and control the pace. Difficult terrain.
Remains have been found this afternoon.
Heavy winds expected on the incident today. Even with the cooler conditions there is potential to get alignment and wind drove runs.
This will be a great test to there lines!
New start being reported south of Hwy 38.
In the Grinnell ridge area. Mid slope.
2nd start being reported by branch XX
200+ cloud to ground strikes reported
Dry lightning snow is a new one
What happened with these?
Working them with bucket ships, lightning contingency group was established and an order of 11 jumpers was en route this morning according to IC at briefing
Deep pockets of heat in the Bear Creek/Siberia Creek drainage that had been kept in check by the weather for last week or so are starting to get a little sporty with the warmer and drier conditions. Bear Peak South 2 camera showing the column coming out of there. Yesterday an interior island put up a column visible from Highland area, hopefully it remains the same today with just interior islands burning themselves out and cleaning themselves up. Team transition to federal team coming either tomorrow or Friday, base camp moving up to Snow Valley by end of day tomorrow.
This doesnât look like an island burning off with all that green in front. Is this real fire already this morning on this???
Fire is well established, in Bearcreek drainage with multiple spots across the line according to Watch Duty
Line Fire around Snow Valley
My badâŚthought it was out?!?
