This will be a very difficult fire to hold in IA.
*poor access
*heavy fuels with no recent fire history in the immediate fire area.
*shifting winds
*high potential for growth after the sun goes down with wind patterns, heavy fuels and difficult terrain. Along with poor RH recovery in Santa Ana drainage.
I hope the folks are able to grab this one.
**FYI ** Could someone close to this one start an IA Thread?
Great view from Keller Peak cam:

The winds are definitely battling
I think a 20 acre potential estimation was rather optimistic
Something is taking off big time…

IC ordering 10 additional Type 3’s, closest available.
It’s not the clearest but it seems to be their command channel but mixed with another incident
This one is better I think. Has AA on it, 28 acres so far
28 acres per intel ship
BDC just banged out a Charlie ST BE9, 136, 202, 214, 228 Id Unknown.
Per BDF Helicopter 535 was doing lightning recon when they discovered this fire as it was taking off.
Looks like it’s got it’s feet under it now, and starting to get going.
Xbo oes 6820A is now responding. They were prepositioned and just dispatched.
The new one near Hemet is going to start sucking some resources now too
The xbo type 3 strike team will be
Be 136, be 9, be 228, be 214, and be 202.
Is this one in the same as the Fairview incident or still new?
Different fires
Yes, Fairview is in the Hemet area
