fire really starting to push downhill now

Now 50 acres. MROS with multiple spots.
The fire is looking the most organized and energetic itâs been since it started. It also appears to be losing its westward side hill/downslope push and is favoring upslope movement toward the ski resorts. Lots of potential in the area with no recent fire history north of hwy 38.
Lots of rotation in the columnâŚ
Per San Bernardino Sheriff Twitter:
Evacuation Order: The San Bernardino County Sheriffâs Department has issued an evacuation order from Glass Road to South Fork River Road in reference to the [#RadfordFire]
AA advising 100-150 acres with active torching and spotting. Hoping for some night dropping Copter tonight.
The news is reporting 200 acres.
Snow Summit South camera is showing how much that bowl is heating up.
Is anybody hearing any prepositioning of crews out ahead of this? Comms arenât great.
The key tonight will be to hold the left flank of not it has the potential to run up into the ski resort areas. Night water dropping helo ordered but unknown if filled. The fire is 200 plus acres now.
This fire just like the Fairview fire has been under the influence of an East wind becuase of the strong high pressure. Resources need to be prepared for typical onshore west winds. Probable downslope winds tonight, but bolo for typical onshore flow
The Fairview did a 180 a little earlier and was interesting to watch on a loop. You could see the smoke from the East side moving West and smoke from the West start moving East until all ground level smoke. Was moving Easterly.
There was a time about 10 years ago when BDF Fire Management brought smokejumpers down to the tanker base to stage for lightning events. Many successful saves were made. Wonder why that doesnât happen anymore. Must be under different management.
That wouldnât have made any difference on this fire. jumpers are still brought down and usually stage at
Porterville. This fire was noticed and then grew. Jumpers wouldâve just gotten chased off it.
