pulling resources out in TW and TU. headed to TRA
It’s really blowing up again, thanks to the winds. There’s a fresh cap rising and smoke trail showing over the hills from Chester, I’m sure the smoke will move this way soon enough.
There was no smoke showing an hour ago, or at least very little.
I’d post a photo from my shop in Chico but it’s just a big (impressive) cloud of smoke with a fringe of white and I’m thinking most of you know what that looks like.
Looks like it’s trying to be number 3.
Air Attack 210 and 8 Helicopters are overhead on the fire. The fire is currently burning in Mill Creek Drainage, spotting out ahead.
Flight Radar seems to show a lot of Helo work on the North side of the Millcreek drainage. Hope they hold it. Also looks like they may be working a spot in the clear cuts north of the drainage.
SEAT 840 and 830 headed out NE from Chester.
Probably IA for the Gravely that just popped on the NOD.
I take back what I said 20m ago. It looks like freaking Mt. Lassen decided to erupt, again.
Yeah, all four plus AA06 are going to one of the weekend’s lightning strikes. Might be forced to relocate if the smoke blows in, but I think it’s mostly past us, especially since winds are heavily from the south.
Looks like they’re Headed to New Princeton, Oregon.

looks like it got some steam to it today. Plume got darker as it grew before the wind started pushing it East

Edited AlertCa Tileset once more for a cleaned up version as it moves upslope. Changed link once again on original post for ease of access:
Looking at the 3 hour loop on the bald mtn cam you can watch the blow up unfold. It threw some spots well out in front. I’m not sure if they are within containment lines however.
