CA-CND-Stagecoach

Wasn’t a burn show, there was no active firing. All came from within. I’m on the incident .

For some reason SQF dispatch always puts lots of resource orders fires in Kern county as CND.

CCD as a three letter identifier is listed as the Columbia College Fire Department.
If you mean the Central California District of BLM, that three letter identifier is CND
OSC lists it in the Sit-500 as, “Stagecoach-CA-CND-002309,” which makes sense as BLM land where it started. However, when BBD had its own dispatch they hardly ever took the UOP/Expanded but gave it to P-ville. Its definitely BLM versus SQF unless it started at the Havilah Station. Really, only the top of the Piutes are contiguous SQF.

The person doing the SITL work could be from the Sequoia, or no one caught it, or they were fooled by the UOP. I’d place my money on the CND despite what the map products say. See what it is tomorrow.

Central California Interagency Communication Center, CCICC, who is handling it has it listed in their CAD system as: Stagecoach-CA-CND-002309. So, forget what’s on the map products today. There was always confusion in the beginning. At least the BLM, SQF, KRN, and CAF didn’t get into a 3-letter taffy pull and issue multiple conflicting order numbers and do their own thing. I have that T-shirt, just lots of numbers on them.

For the Kern County having lots of CND orders…
KRN normally will hand off the UOP/Expanded if they can, like the identified Interagency area around the Lake – or definitely if it is FedDPA. KRN runs over 100K incidents through their communications center and they would prefer to not get bogged down. If is was a KRN fire, which means it is a CalFire show (contract County) then a lot of times UOP/Expanded would be done at KRN’s Department Operations Center (DOC).

AA51 is mapping the fire. AA15 and rest of the aircraft are off the fire.

Thanks. Yeah the more I saw figured it wasn’t a firing ops.

Does anyone have a scanner link ? I believe the one provided didnt have any incident coverage

I poked around and, as usual, that place is not a good area to communicate or hear – even on regular days. CND, SQF, and KRN all have channels in their HT’s/equipment that supports interagency ops for the first couple of Op periods. For extended incidents, if they move a NIFC Cache in it won’t help either. Someone would have to be around the top of Breckenridge or in Walker Basin, or Thompson Canyon to pick up the Tacs. The commands won’t get past the Breckenridge wall.

If you can find a scanner that has the SQF channels there is a good chance they are the forest repeaters for either support and/or possibly command, just because the forest system is already set up and has pretty good coverage. I spent my early summers in Walker Basin, no television and only one AM radio station from Bakersfield. Then it was my battalion for 11 years, still difficult to communicate, so the scanner link would have to be local to that area, and that is if they have power anymore.

CICC Porterville is interagency dispatch and has SQF, BLM and TIA. So that’s why they have the incident.

MAFF’s have been activated for about a month now, operating out of McClellan. They started with 2 aircraft and went to a total of 4 a couple of weeks ago.

The radar track indicates it was flown around 2000-2100 last night and created around 00:45 this morning so there is quite a bit of latency between NIROps and product creation.

…And then what ever happened today

And I know we can disregard the SQF as it is really CND
