Non KCFD fatality notification
It is with heartfelt sadness that I have learned that a firefighter at the Stagecoach Fire has passed away. I do not know all the details at this time, but can confirm the firefighter was not a Kern County Fire Department firefighter. I know this firefighter was working in a support role at the Incident Command Post when he had an acute medical emergency and passed away due to complications. Notification of the next of kin is still in process, so discretion is warranted at this time.
