Reddgroom said west of 9 looks unburned. I saw a map that looked good to me as I am 100 yards West of 9 2.5 miles North of downtown BC. Is that map to which you refer?

I was at my home at 11 AM Friday and saw nothng burned to the immediate East of 9 but only was 2.5 Mi North of town.
My Bear Creek Rd backdoor is now closed so no way to get inā€¦

Correction: I am East, East of highway 9. I saw nothing East of 9 yesterday. At 9 PM Thursday, I saw flame to my West on the ridge top that divides the 236 valley and the rte 9 valley. The fire has not apparently burned all the way down to the river which is maybe 50 yards from 9 so that is good that East of 9 seems to be clear for now.

Hwy9, I am going by the maps provided by the incident. You can see it in the background of this quick update. https://www.facebook.com/CALFIRECZUSanMateoSantaCruz/videos/1722942197858553/

If anyone happens to hear of the status of Camp Krem please mention it. It is a camp for the disabled and I have a good friend who goes there every summer. Thanks.

Boulder Creek downtown is intact per the FD as of 1630 local time. East of ( still seems fine but details were not provided.

Hwy9 - there are plenty of people on here linked to official sources and listening to scanner feeds. PLEASE DO NOT sneak into an evacuated area to try and answer a question posted here. Mod - correct me if Iā€™m wrong here, but the forums are created for those who already have sources to lawfully determine or who are in the area on official business to share what they already legally know. IT IS NOT a place that encourages people to violate the law in order to obtain the information. If you watch or listen to all the official fire and LE folks saying please please please if there is an evacuation, leave the area and stay out of the area. That means you too. Its sad, but listening to the scanner today, most of the traffic is the LE folks chasing down reports of vehicles seen in the area which are not authorized, people sneaking around road blocks and suspected looters. Anyone sneaking back into the area is causing more work for the LE folks, who have other things to attend to - like patrolling the area and keeping looters out. Please donā€™t get arrested as a suspected looter because you wanted to post information here in these forums. Sorry if I am coming off strong here, but itā€™s a professional peeveā€¦ please please donā€™t get in the way of the responders.

If that is even partially in response to my question I was asking only if anyone hears. I expected us here to all be grown up enough to understand what that means:)

Just wanted to clarify. Thanks.

I called the fire station at about 1630 and spoke to the volunteer that answered the phone. I asked about a volunteer who is my next door neighbor, Steve K. There was no news only that downtown was intact. That is the source of my information. I provided it for those that wondered about downtown status. I have not been there since 1100 yesterday and there was no traffic control of any sort. Sorry if I hit a nerve unintentionally.

For what its worth I did not see anything at all hinting that Hwy9 was saying to do anything like that. To the contrary - his last post said the only way in was WITH escort from LE - but nowhere did he say that he, or suggesting anyone should violate evacuation zones.

At least that I readā€¦

Thanks for bringing that up, this always becomes a problem at some point. I remember this happening during the detwiler fire people blowing past the CHP officer at the fairgrounds and people camping out in the turnouts along 49 to watch the fire. Lots of looky loos trying to get a ā€œcoolā€ photo for their social media page.

I was there , that base camp(Fairgrounds) was 20+ miles from the fireā€¦ not in the affected fire areaā€¦ carry onā€¦

I believe the base camp is or at leas was, in Scotts Valley on Mt. Herman Road. Iwas there at 1900 hr yesterday evacing my mini storage unit. The one I filled Thursday. The police were reluctant to let me in but did so anyway. An evac center is in the fairgrounds in Watsonville.

I was there when the first ICP at the Mariposa fairgrounds had to be evacuated, we had to get all of the valuables out of the mining and mineral museum.
