It’s on tribal land which is fed and as it moves east eventually it would move on to the Six rivers national Forest.

Spent a week there back in '01. Did 4 IA’s in those 5 days. All of them in non timber harvesting areas.
The consensus was that being paid as FEDs they were doing it for the hazard pay. Was sketchy staying on the Res

CIMT ordered.
It’s all FRA, USWFS.
Ask went to CALFIRE if they can send an IMT.
If not, then it goes to NMAC for prioritization.
Not cultural burning related.

Especially as a R5 fed dozer that’s been on the sidelines all year. So far we’ve pushed on 1 shift.

Was on a Cal Fire Team fire in Hoopa in mid teens for the Tully Fire. It never felt dangerous, but there were some funny kind of heckling vibes, and I felt like I was part of an occupying army. Some dudes posted up on the river bar below the BIA station where we were set up and sang and played drums all night, and an old man stood on the Highway 96 bridge and shook a hatchet at everyone who drove by. The team packed up all up and moved camp to an old mill site near Orrick that was about twice as far from the fire, which was out anyway. One of the weirder ones…

CIMT1 - Allison is available. I am guessing but CIMT1 is likely penciled in by NMAC for a fire somewhere out there in PL5 land. It can be erased, but asking CALFIRE to consider taking the Hoopa Fire is a smart move.

The Sierra NF did that in 2020 on the Creek because they could not get a Fed team timely. The difference there was that it was already in unified command.

Worked there in conjunction with the Tribe, BIA and USFS to meld their fire service into ICS. That was 85-87. Lived on the compound. Got along fine as long as you avoided the Club Hupa. Had some of those guys go a long way in the fire service after that. Still have a friend with property there and go back once in a while. 4 of us ran the shop from the FS. A Battalion and 3 captains with various duties. I came up from the ANF, Another from Montana and 2 were SRF. We with fresh ideas did OK. What I did not like was the attitude of many of the local USFS folks with condescending attitudes towards the locals…

They are the team that was available and it would default to them if the cal fire team didn’t want to take it. Thats what I was told a little while ago.
