CA-KNF-McKinney?

I’m sure there’s lots of resource orders out there in the system. When an incident get this size there’s a lot of planning needed. Patients

Seems like a small amount of critical resources needed for a fire this size. Any talk of a CALFIRE team for if/when it makes it to the SRA / Yreka ? What team is up?

There are if the command freq is tone protected.

I’m not making a blanket statement. No discussion. I am explicitly making a watchout for this incident for this 205. Those command nets should NOT have RX tones.

There are many command nets that have both RX and Tx tone protected…especially if there are other incidents close by

This is fixed forest infrastructure, not portable NIFC gear where they are trying to isolate nearby incidents. Why is a watchout up for discussion, especially on IA thread? Full stop. Stop muddying the water people.

You have a very important safety watchout there. If you are on this fire and not hearing command, try removing the rx tone if you have it programmed in there. Depending on your radio you may be able to disable tone protection on the rx side without reprogramming. The old bricks can be done by turning the squelch knob off of the detent, if I remember correctly. I think the KNG may have an “omon” button that does something similar, depending on how they are programmed.

My guess is a cut and paste issue on the 205.

KNF BLK regularly doesn’t have an Rx tone. I just spoke with the COML, the Rx tone was an error on the 205 however all radios cloned didnt recieve that error. Agree it can be a safety issue if someone had hand programmed per the 205. As previously stated if that occurs unlock channel guard or turn monitor mode on.
