LACoFD V-1 is a pretty crazy listen right now: Los Angeles County Fire V-1 Live Audio Feed

KTLA is showing a dozer just plowing parked cars off the road to make room all the while a fully involved home is at the top of the frame.

Calm, cool, collected, under extreme pressure. Sounds like the LACoFD.

There was a similarly named fire that stalked The Summit community area up there in May 2021. Fire crews could use that burn scar to at least tie/keep this current burn to the south but nothing is a guarantee. The wind is intense and the fire is burning in brush that hasn’t even seen much fire since at LEAST '1978 from the Mandeville Firestorm.

This fire will unfortunately be historic for many reasons, one of them being such a monster in January. I can count with one had how many 1,000+ acre fires have happened in SoCal in the past 3 decades.

Forgive the crude drawing, do not use it for exact mapping purpose:

Life Force 21 advising OPS they are on scene at Palisades and Sunset with 3 story apartment complex getting impinged by fire. Asked for multiple engines to assist but was advised nothing close to help and do what they could

1308 acres from INTEL 12…or 1261 depends on who maps it

Life Force 21 says heavy fire on the top floor of the complex. They are about to engage on their own. Still no help available

I believe they’re called Light Force not life force

Never heard of either so wasn’t sure. Radio traffic has not been the best. Thanks for clarifying

With LAFD configuration a truck company that runs with 1 engine co is a ‘light force’

For some of the folks reading who might not know, the reason why LAFD Ladder Trucks almost always travel with an accompanying Engine, is that LAFD Ladder’s don’t have pumps.

Can someone start an IA thread? A lot of evac/life safety info it would be good to separate from general discussion

Usually not a full engine company just two personal
