Does anyone know what it looks like in Windsor and Fountaingrove?

@Data_Crystals
I have only second hand accounts as of 2145:

“Fire is theatening residences in northern larkfield and is spreading south of Shiloh Rd.”

SPECULATION: that they are rallying assets and building ad hoc assault units at Wells Fargo Center to hold for structure defense. Its likely that command is counting on a slowed ROS once the fire gets to TUBBS burn history.

(Edited for correct fire history area)

Looks like the column is breaking through the inversion. Something is heating up under there.

Anyone know why they are sending immediate need strike teams to Napa fairgrounds? Another strike team from San Mateo county just dispatched to Napa fairgrounds.

Fire creeping up Mt St Helena. Concern is for Calistoga and Middletown. Staging for that maybe?

Probably setting another base. If Mt St Helena gets into the mix, they’ll need it.

The Napa Fairgrounds makes more logistical sense for access to the 101 side or the upper Napa Valley points if or when the fire comes past Mt. St. Helena. If they put them into the Calistoga Fairgrounds, that limits their access to the 101 side and similarly, putting them into the Sonoma side, the travel time back into the upper Napa Valley, without going through the fire zones is a long trip.

ADD: Response from the Napa Fairgrounds also provides good access up both sides of the Valley along Highway 29 on the West side or Silverado Trail on the East side. The threat to either side of the Valley is going to be variable depending the wind direction of the moment with substantial structure threat along both sides.

Looks like it’s now crossed the border into Lake County. Just a bit?
Winds shifted west to east a few hours ago.

A lot of more spot fires being called.

I’m in Sonoma and the smoke has started to blanket the town. Visibility is low here.

Yep. With Branch I looking a little long, reducing that span will help.

It’s definitely making a hard push towards Cobb Mtn. right now. That area has been pretty quite the last couple of days.

The big concern would be that as it pushes East, and the wind event projected Tuesday & Wednesday, that it would be a repeat of the Valley Fire on that side.

As the AA that afternoon on the 2003 Cedar Fire, the onshore 180 degree windshift broke thru backdoor jumping firelines. The new front/head was almost 18 miles wide heading into the Cuyamacas and Pinehills.

Didn’t hear what division but sounds like airtac is not confident the dozer line will hold. Mentioned painting one ridge then use the tankers for point structure protection

Good because it shifts away from Windsor and Healdsburg.
Bad because Napa and Lake Counties.

I was surprised when the wind shifted so suddenly earlier today. Hrmph.

It looks like the low pressure has moved into the area. With the jet now to the east, it should help, but…
