Per AA, 15 acres MROS, short range spotting observed, potential for 500 acres
AA has requested 3 additional copters, 2 type one tankers (LATs), and 4 multi engine tankers
Lots of potential there. It can run the drainage and there isn’t a whole lot of places to stop it effectively for a while.
Edit: Just dispatched 5 additional T3 engines and requested any available Napa County engines come up to ECC and respond.
This portable raws is nearby and reasonable estimate of current wx conditions:
LATs 121, 122 and 181, Type 3’s 88, 86, also 82 and 83 off the Coyote incident.
Initial attack T91, T85, T100
Looking at the cameras the fire behavior is definitely established. Anyone with local knowledge know if there are good holding points in that area?
Looks like it’s getting some legs!
There isn’t a whole lot until it gets closer to Pope Valley. Very steep and rocky, not friendly for Dozers unless you go to the main ridges.
This is 100% in the burn scar of the 2020 Glass Fire, that’s only 5 year old regrowth putting out that much energy
Its in the 2020 LNU burn area and yes that matters with this one. Mainly brush component left with some timber on the ground. The 2020 Glass fire footprint is across the street. No marine layer help for a few days. The mid and upper slopes will burn better at night than during the day with a little more wind and lower RH overnight hours.
Agreed. Look at the St Helena south cam, rocks and cliffs everywhere. No dozers up top.
Cal Fire website says 60 acres, 0% contained.
I’m gonna guess the website is way behind. It’s trying to cap out from Sonoma County.
I think we put some line in along Aetna Springs in Glass. The Glass dis burn into the LNU. Or plex on that side an re-burn through some of the LNU Complex…
Great airshow goin on!
Burn scars don’t seem to mean much today.
