More than likely, Elks Rodeo Grounds
Last real update was Air attack has an anchor he thinks may hold overnight to start with in the morning said besides the anchor the fires burned through or outflanked all other retardant they laid. Night Air attack on order.
Warming/drying trend over weekend across Gifford Fire will bring continued threat of large vertical plume growth during afternoon hours. Temperatures forecasted to climb into upper 90s with humidities in upper teens. along with W-NW winds gusting 15-20 mph.
Appears to have reached plowshare
Like the Madre fire a whole lot of nothing is on fire.
This thing has the potential to burn and burn and burn and burn. Only scar with a potential to slow the spread ahead of it is the August 2009 La Brea scar which was a smokey but relatively well contained 90,000 acre fire area. This thing surrounds its scar on several angles. Not to mention also having northern flanks above Highwas 166. Definitely going to be a fire to keep an eye on.
This area has a lot of heavy oak woodlands with thick, heavy brush on north facing sloops and areas of grass and heavy brush on the southern slopes. There is a lot of open ground to the south and east with a few areas to stop it’s spread. Once it’s in the wilderness it’s going to burn unchecked for quite a ways.
Agree…this can go south and southeast for a very long time. I think I am smelling 100k acres.
Any updated orders? When do IMT take over? Updated Intel

Absolutely frightening images from the La Panza 1 camera. Looks like genuine hell.
Plowshare getting burned over was unreal to see. I haven’t seen that since Keller (Line) and Santiago (Airport) Peak cams got washed over.
12,786 acres per mapping. Fires reach plowshare camera and has also bumped a small corner of the Madre burn. No real updates on orders or team in brief at the moment that I have.
