Rips up hill up canyon real impressive on each run then backing down until the next canyon bottom is reached. The burn history leaves just this acreage unburned (for many years) with scars on 3 sides.

Tanker 163 lifting off Fresno for the fire. Catch it at the ridge.

The Willow Fire is currently burning in the scar of the 2008 Basin Complex. There are many more recently burned areas that it could burn into but, at the moment, the wind is pushing it toward the oldest fuels.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s in the gallery scar currently right? And burning to the west of the hot springs?

The Gallery Fire merged with the Basin Fire to become the Basin Complex long before they got to the location where the Willow Fire is now burning. Basin Complex BAER maps show the Willow Creek drainage burned at mostly moderate to low intensity in that incident. The Willow Fire, so far, has been almost entirely confined to the Willow Creek drainage, which is the next drainage south of Tassajara Creek (the location of the hot springs and Zen Center). The big run yesterday afternoon was actually to the south, away from Tassajara, up the slopes on the south side of Willow Creek. Most of the heat picked up by the satellites overnight is on the south side of the fire. This is good news because further expansion in that direction is limited by the recent Dolan Fire scar.

tone 13 is for the repeater input, you should be able to hear it no matter what you have it set to. make sure you have the correct receive PL, I can hear it in the salinas valley

edit, receive should be carrier. no PL
most command traffic is on LPF admin though

It’s the only spot on the Monterey that hasn’t burnt since 2008, build the box and let it do its thing. As much as I’m an old school guy, direct isn’t the way in the middle of the ventana

We spent $262 MILLION on the Soberanes Fire. That’s enough to do over 500,000 acres of prescribed fire. There’s gotta be a better way.
