Have not read it yet, but kudos to the Ground and Air Folks…their efforts made a big difference…the proximity to MCC reload was a game changer to support the troops…
Agreed. Had aircraft flying over the house about one every 3-5 minutes. Turn-around time was quite impressive… Ground crews at MCC must have been sweating their butts off
As of 8am, fire is held south of mt olive rd (except one small finger approx 50’ x 200’ near 174). Held west of hwy 174. Chicago park elementary is standing, many homes to the south of the school are not. Fire not near alta sierra proper. Activity this morning is on south end of fire.
Question, is data accessible to public? All links return to parent directory. I am interested in this fire and research info on past fires.
Thanks all you do.

Just means there is nothing uploaded to the system yet. Fire is too new, and there is no team assigned, so not a whole lot of time to gather intel together to upload.
If it wasn’t available to the public, like most Fed incidents, it would show up as password protected
The only thing available at the moment is the infrared mapping from last night.
I have friends in the area, just south of the fire as mapped last night. Please tell, what activity on the south end are you hearing about?
Also, anyone have a link to an online scanner for the incident? The link posted earlier does not seem to have incident traffic.

A lot of LE, but a couple have Command and air to ground
At the bear river campground right now. Hot spots and tree torching on north side of riverbank. Choppers hitting it hard right now, nothing burning south of the river here. Winds are expected to pick up later. This afternoon will be make or break.
What about historical past fire infi. It does the same thing there too. Ca STF Donnell 2018 goes to parent directory.
Thanks Be Safe.

One item going for the team is access. We used to do hose lay training down into the BR canyon. Yes, the urban interface is extreme but there are lots of roads in the area as well. Unlike further up-canyon north of the lake or on the other east side of I-80 where access becomes more of an issue.
At one point about an hour before cutoff, I had eyes on 3 LATS and there were 6 at MCC. I was on the outbound pattern so they were going directly over me.

That is some areas of really complete fuel consumption.
Anyone know if Chicago Park survived?
It looks to me like the flanks were kept in check quite well but the head went along gobbling up everything because the fuel bed was so continuous and dry. Once it reached the ag fields in the south of Chicago park it seems to have kind of petered out. There has not been much fire activity since sundown yesterday.
