Ops talking to AA. Two priorities: Left shoulder of left flank and Branch III Going direct attack as fire behavior has moderated to work right shoulder around where fire hit hwy 174. Sunset at 19:43 hours and cut off is 20:15. Concerned about the winds shifting out of northeast for night at 2100. They want to help clean up the northwest corner of the fire.
Just the early heat start on Caltopo:
Wind lines (green) show direction and average speed.
Wind @ Colfax RAWS station was gust to 7mph today (low, that’s good) .

Sounds like AA and all tankers released and available per latest radio traffic and ADSB info after laying down some good lines at the heel. Rotorwings are continuing to work on the head and heel of the fire. Camera’s are looking good, let’s just pray that the fire stays in check.
I’m not able to be fully listening in on this incident due to other issues, but based on my ability spot check and the lack of info for those watching I figured I’d post:
Windshift has started, going to be pushing on the left flank of the fire now running about 3-5 mph from the SE. Camera’s are looking good, little smoke and crews are continuing to support containment lines and jumping on hot spots. Still see rotorwing working the head of the fire via ADSB, but it looks good.
To those new to site, this by no means an all clear. Big work continues on this fire and will it will be tested over the next 24hrs. Also, as always, good work Calfire and it’s neighboring agencies and support. Also a big thanks to Mother Nature for letting them work on this after the start.
They were able to put a lot of mud down fast with the close proximity to Grass Valley and MCC. Quick turn around times.
