The emerging estimates of the annual total cost (damages) of wildfire in the US is around $450 Billion (with a B).
$3.5 M of this fire was a pretty good deal when you consider what was saved.
Back in the day we used to chase these fires into the canal with 3 or 4 engines. B5414 would not use tankers to protect cow patties in the Altamont.
