Damn nature, you scary.
In all seriousness this is a horrifying event and my thoughts go out to all of the people on the line + residents and animals involved.
Has anyone heard of the potential on this one? I’m assuming an IMT activation will be soon.
Team 14 type 2 has it
Thanks. This is no place to divert attention.
We’re doing our best with updates on Siskiyou Alerts
In addition to Lava, a vehicle fire into the vegetation in Tennant has jumped 97 and prompted evacuation warnings for Bray and Tennant.
A new fire is reported in Montague on Ager-Beswick x Desavado. Reported as multiple fires now, burning north. Just heard them requesting ODF.
Thank you Shannon for your efforts.
Anyone have a QR code for this incident?
The QR codes are housed here: Lava Incident QR Codes
The overall incident documentation including IAP(s) and Mapping are housed here:

The state definitely pulled the plug on this one now.
If the fire has officially entered Unified Command(UC) the agency in UC Will bring their resources. If the fire isn’t in UC the agency having Jurisdiction (AHJ) has a responsibility to respond. Sadly the August Complex last year is an example of what it looks like. I pray that this isn’t the case and the fire has gone in UC with 1 of 3 cost share agreements in place. “ACRES BURNED” or “COST APPORTIONMENT” or more than likely “YOU ORDER/YOU PAY”
Not always the case, Last year’s West complex/bear fire in Butte, and The Eiler fire in SHU (2014?) Come to mind. Both those instances CF set up there own “contingencies” and assigned resources before the incidents went into Unified command. Usually when community are threatened, feather falls and Hat Creek/old station in the above mentioned fires. I believe it has also happened when certain large private timber companies have put pressure on the right state/federal representatives.
looking at the webcams there is still a strong wind on the fire
Ventusky says 25 mph on the mountain decreasing to single digits on the flats
Maybe make a new QA thread about this topic outside the fire thread. Then if it gets squelched we’ll know the true intentions of the censorship.
Constructive criticism and dialog can be powerful for change.
Just so we are clear here:
This is not your Facebook page. This thread is for questions and discussion related to the fire.
We are not here to Monday morning quarterback incidents from the recliner. Especially when you are not in the command center to know what was transpiring.
If your posts are inflammatory or derogatory, they will be removed! This is not your Facebook page.
If you want to have a conversation about the fire response in a polite manner, in a separate thread that is fine.
Additionally, the large majority of the Moderators are active firefighters. We do not have time to send a message for every post that is deleted, while we are punching out, responding with, or on strike teams, or on our home turf running calls. We have been moderating The Hotlist and this site for years, and know when things are not being discussed in a manner that is intended for positive change.
If someone has a problem with that they can message me, we can talk one on one.
Now back to the fire.
Has there been a data package created for ATAK yet?
I’m still getting my feet wet with ATAK, so not sure specifically for this fire. But I believe the KML will get the data as soon as its uploaded.
Well stated, thanks…
