Due to the size of the fire and structures at risk I’m sure a team will take command of the fire within 24 hours.
Hearing CA IIMT 2 Minton ( FED TYPE 1) will be ordered
Any info on strike team requests?
Some of Minton’s team just got back from Dolan last night. Maybe Young who is on pre-po in Sac?
Young’s correct my bad
Just a little history from the last fire.

Didn’t the rough fire burn there. As well as another fire I was on in north fork but can’t seem to remember the name of it.
Mission Fire in ‘17 was most recent activity in Cascadel. French Fire in I think ‘14 burned east side of whisky ridge. Cascadel is on the SW region of Whisky Ridge and doesn’t look to have had any substantial fire activity in the last 19+ years. It is regularly logged however.
Not rough. 2014 or 15 Aspen
Any word on what those spots are doing?
Very very ominous looking!! Makes a person step back and respect the issue at hand!!
I can remember peckinpah creek and county fire statio 11 is where vase camp was. It may have been 5 years ago
CA IMT 5 (Young) is enroute to the Elkhorn on the Mendo.
We’ve dodged this “worst case scenario” bullet for too many seasons now. A fire on the drought and beetle ravaged western slope of the Sierras during a critical fire weather period at PL5… An absolutely monumental task at hand
Not yet, still staging. Things might change.
CA IIMT 1 McGowen would be up before Minton anyway
Mod-Note lets keep all the team talk down at the moment, or make a separate thread. Things are busy on the fire still, and the team that goes will be sorted out soon enough.
Interesting🤔 I spoke to one of the Team 5 OPS and he said they were packing up and heading to the Elkhorn🤷🏼♂️.
Not hearing much traffic in the tamarack/ Huntington area. Anyone know what activity looks like to the East ?
