Unless they reorganized the divisions Sierra is also working the High Sierra lightning complex northeast of Quebec and Tango.
Garlic IC said they can see the flame front from the blowup. Would re-evaluate
to go back in tomorrow if at all.
10 years ago I would completely agree. Weâve seen some significant changes in fire behavior since then, including what Bootstrap and Jimw360 mentioned in the previous posts. We now have to take those reports and consider them as distinct possibilities. It is difficult to comprehend, but itâs certainly a possibility.
The fire showing at the bottom of the picture is a rekindle between Rodgers ridge and the south fork kings. Itâs still on the good side and hopefully it stays there.
Thereâs a spot back on the south side of the North fork of the Kings River up on the right shoulder of the run today. This may lead to major progression to the East.
Somewhat related to this thread: Iâm pretty certain Dixie didnât spot 10 miles. There was a fire that started way out to the east of the fire, near Antelope Lake, but the dynamics of the main fire at that time didnât seem like they were going to support anything close to that. As I recall, the fire was mainly backing down to Antelope Lake around the time it happened, not running up and out of the North Fork Feather, or something massive like that. Some people have used a map I published on The Lookout showing the main fire and new start to support this claim, but I donât recall ever saying I thought this was the case. Be careful with AI search results.
off topic but read the 10-12 mile spotting recorded in the Sundance fire study
Hey good evening. Letâs try as best we can to maintain the focus on the Garnet incident. If we need to open a separate thread for the distances burning material can and does cover, we can certainly do that
Question - what is happening at the Fence Meadow 1 cam at about the 11:24hrs mark? Does this have anything to do with the fire activity? ALERTCalifornia
I believe those are folks putting in mobile repeaters

NIFC reports $7.5 million and going up up⌠($457 per acre)
Looking at todayâs map, Iâm struck by how much work it takes to hold a fire inside those lines. The red hotspots tell the story of how fierce itâs been, and yet the footprint has been held. That doesnât happen by accident.
To everyone out there on the lineâdigging, cutting, flying, watching, and sweatingâthank you. Your skill and grit are seen and deeply appreciated. https://caltopo.com/
