CA-SNF/INF-August lightning?

Been up watching it Since about 4 AM. Largest thunderstorm we have had in our foothills in a long time. Id guess several hundred cloud to ground strikes.

Hume Lake RD got hit hard, had a cell move through yesterday early Evening, and then it started again about 0200, and is just now slowing down. Significant rain with it though, about 2.1 inches so far. It looks like these cells have pushed major winds off Converse Mountain towards the West through the River canyon.

SNF picked up a new lighting start near Spanish Mountain Monday. The Deer Fire.
Unknown what action are being taken. More smokes were seen just before sunset.
Don’t see recent wildfires in Wildweb yet.

Sounds like all this a activity will begin to significantly decrease today and be over by tomorrow. Will be interesting to see the number of sleepers that may come out over the next couple days. Some areas got drenched, some not.

The Deer Fire was spotted by Buck Rock on 8/23 around a similar time as the Garlic, it has been an unmanned fire as the Garlic crews were able to keep tabs on it. The Garnet map shows it on the Fire History Maps.

I imagine with clearing skies and daytime heating drying things out a bit there will likely be a ‘few’ lightning recon flights today?

Firewatch 51 flew this morning and found two new starts.
I only copied one: Crown Fire 37 01’18.6 x -118 51’ 29.4W Wood chuck pass (not the current Woodchuck fire) near 29E06 road, a 20’x20’ SROS.
Perhaps this is the one the IR ship picked up last night calling it a spot off Garnet.

The seconds shows on CAD: Snake fire: 37 20’ 52.8N x -119 08’ 34.8.
Near Sample Meadow camp ground.

Garlic and Deer fires were patrolled this morning found only some limited heat.
These crews are being removed for the rest of the day.
Due to spread of the Garnet.

Fun fact as the fire encroaches on the teakettle experimental forest. Teakettle is the largest old grove stand of trees in the Sierra Nevada mtns. Fingers crossed for low intensity fire. Shout out to @pyrogeography for the info on the #lookout YouTube.

I believe I heard the Tea Fire crews report found some heat and will mopup.
Amongst all the Garnet traffic maybe I didn’t hear it all??
I figured with the spread of the Garnet that fire would have been unstaffed.

AA15 over the Pincushion requesting 3 LAT’s and 1 S2 tankers.
Have 2 copters for bucket work enroute.
I have not heard conditions yet.

Note: I was away for the day and could not have heard any radio reports on the Pincushion Fire to further follow this up.

2 Days Later update 9-9:
The Lighting Team transitioned to local forest command and control yesterday.
Not surprisingly two new lighting strikes smoked their way to life over the last two days and were discovered by firewatch 51 on daily recon for the forest.
1- near Bonita Lake/Mt. Henry area
2- John Muir wilderness at 10,500’ elevation.
