As it got dark I spotted a lightning struck tree on my neighbor’s property.
Called it in, tried hiking to it but to much downed heavies and brush in the dark, utl by engines, and I watched it till midnight when it seemingly went out. I’ll hike in Friday to make sure because things are real wet now but logs hide heat.
Copter 516 located the first of 4 smokes all nearby Wishon Reservoir
First fire reported is the Village Fire at 37.026833 x - 118.927667 due east of the reservoir.
3 Additional smokes reported (unnamed so far) south and west of the reservoir by the copter 516 and down north fork of the kings river. Copter close fly by was the only reason these were found.
516 now sees another 2 potential smokes…
All under 1 acre and slow ROS.

Those Kings River drainage’s got hammered by lightning.
If any smoke starts showing it will be visible Blue Ridge:

Up with darn lower back pain and looking in on Delila Lookout 2 it’s been showing pretty active and growing fire all night. Is this a specific named/reported fire?

B55 states it’s improbable that any work could hold the Rodgers ridgetop. Shut down tankers. B55 states it’s spotted north of the ridge.
IC evaluating to pull out and down river to gravel flats, from the last huge run to top of Rodgers Ridge due to cumulus collapse and spotting.
Was there last year major critical infrastructure at balch camp hydro electric and helms at wishon. pge Sipt crews did excellent work with there infrastructure last year including state and fed agencies
That large thunderstorm has been sitting over Squaw Valley / Dunlap area for the last hour or so - lots of cloud to ground lightning and a little bit of rain
