Yeah, that last section right before the lookout is a bad Jeep trail at best…lol. Set up a repeater up there today.
Does Peppermint Work Center have enough room to set up a camp? The drive up 190 from P-Ville is not quick and it would seem like something up in the Western Divide would be a lot closer.
They could ask R-Ranch in the Sequoias (johnsondale) if they would allow a spike camp. They used if for the Cedar Fire couple years back
That was my other thought. Good spot, and way closer than P-Ville.
Did a rough perimeter of the fire on Google Earth
15,684 acres
There was over 400 ff there. Trucked meals in. No shower unit though
Hearing rumors that the Castle Fire blew up pretty good today and that Tulare County is dumping a couple Type VI Strike Teams on it. Anyone have info?
S/T XSB-1521C Rainbow enroute to this fire from the River Inc @ 0800 today.
It put up a good header earlier and is now down towards the heel.

Tulare County Fire Department has two Task Forces assigned to the fire and they have been there a few days.
They have been firing towards the heel area today.
Thanks, I had a feeling that was going on.
Was on McNally as a feller for two weeks taking down snags on East side dozer line. fire did well and hopefully this fire will settle down and do some good. we only toke snags 300 ft both sides of the line. still a lot of snags for the folks to deal with if it goes well into McNally. tough on falling crews and all ground troops. be safe:: Look up, look down and look around. Be Safe…but have fun
GOES 17 still showing a lot of heat, but to me seems somewhat steady. be interested in those in know to chime in. this is a Q&A.

I have heard they are moving into Johnsondale for a spike camp
Already moved in.
Northern Rockies Team 1 in route will probably transition Tues. or Wed. and take the fire Wed. or Thur. They’ll get their full 14 for sure, this could be one of those with several more teams.
All that 4 wheel drive training paying off.
In brief with the Type 1 team will be tomorrow on 9/1, shadow for 2 days and then they’ll take the fire on Friday, 9/4.
