Any information including an IAP for this incident?
Yes, free the IAPs, please!
Interesting how most state fire IAPs are online but only some Fed , I don’t get why they don’t just post them all .
On the fed side, everything with a radio frequency on it now controlled unclassified information. That is the main reason we are not supposed to post them publicly. Since they have critical information for our folks on the line, teams try to walk the line between having the information where it is needed and breaking federal law. That is why you see some shared only to people with the right link (or QR code), and others password protected.
Which has always struck me as strange. Frequencies are publicly available for access, they are not encrypted or scrambled so why the secrecy? Also the worst kept security in Govt when you consider it as a whole…
Our team posts the IAPs the teams that don’t are usually including phone numbers for the different sections. This has lead to people not on the incident calling numbers to get intel including the press. We just don’t publish a phone list in the IAP.
16924 acres and 15% contained as of 6:52am
@moderators can we get this rogue thread merged back with the original CA SRF Early August Lightning please?
8/15/2022 - Our intel assessment is posted to The Lookout Youtube channel. We talk about ongoing firing operations, and outlook for next several days. https://youtu.be/MYP0d7LW72M
We are starting to get drift smoke in the Sacramento area from the Six Rivers fire, what is the current status of the fire?
Firing on the west side of the Amman and Oak fires which combined should be completed by tonight. That would tie in everything in Div W from the 1 road near Amman ridge to the road towards the lookout and repeater on the lower north side of Friday Ridge Road. The eastern portion has some open line but it is not moving that much.
Most of the smoke is from those firing ops and the HP ridge, it has brought a shift in the winds that are pushing the smoke south.
Our 8/17/2022 morning video/intel assessment for the SRF Lightning Complex fires is on YouTube.
We look at the progression of the fire over the past 10 days, and check out the progress of ongoing firing operations on the Ammon Fire.
Interesting that the fire moving unchecked up that slope has been so moderate. Unfortunately (probably because of fire activity) the SRF doesn’t have updated fuel moisture in the national database.
AA52 on scene and tankers 132, 139 and 160 inbound.
Any update, seeing as how nothing was said in awhile.
