FIRIS Intel finished their flight. The entire upper part of the South Fork Tule/Crawford Creek/Windy Creek looks to have taken off today. Fire is now across the top of Slate along the ridge, and looks like it is all the way west to Packsaddle Meadow, just above Rogers Camp. Fire is now within 1.5 miles of Ponderosa and Johnsondale/R-Ranch. EDIT: My error in reading the IR dots. Boots on the ground as of 1900 said fire had not made it to Packsaddle yet.

12,370 acres, 0% containment. Major runs upslope back side of Slate/Nelson yesterday. Fire overran the smaller contained Crawford Fire and consumed the upper drainage of the South Fork Tule. Predicted weather includes a Red Flag Warning. Mountain communities and Redwood Groves continue to be threatened.
*AFFECTED AREA…Sierra Nevada from San Joaquin River southward
through Tehachapi area.
- WIND…Northwest winds 25-35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
possible. - HUMIDITY…Relative humidity will range from upper single
digits to upper teens along with poor overnight recoveries.

I heard AA go up at 8am and check in. No fixed wing ordered but, looking at flight radar he’s working with a couple of copters.
I heard another AA # I am not familiar with and he’s gridding that whole sector, I mean 30-40 mile legs. Maybe an IR mission for spots.

Just now looking at the Windy from Blue Mountain in Kern county… Looking up the M90 - M50 corridor. Once the projected winds hit it later it’s gonna be a mess.

2 scoopers on scene will be working an unknown smokey ridgetop down hill. Dip out of Issabella on round robin load and return. Calling them like a boat comm’s with “skipper 281”.
More fixed wing on order… 76, 78. Dropping in Johnsondale area structures. Though I wonder about Whittset camp structures??

There has been a steady flow of mixed bag of LG engines (T-1 ST’s) heading up Parker Pass from M56 today.
Saw a Glendale and Arcadia rigs in the mix.

No further comm’s from scoopers. Think you are correct Chaparral. I recall reading about fuel and distance using them on Dixie. Too far to Isabella.

Winds have started to change. Yesterday at Peppermint they were out of the ESE all day. Now, out of the West/WNW 3-5 with gusts to 15. RH in the teens and 20’s. Benchmark for what is coming.
