Last fire to burn in the immediate footprint was the 1994 Cottonwood Fire, much of the timber has hardly recovered but that won’t matter with the decades of meadow flashy fuels and it being pushed largely by diurnal winds.

PERSONAL PREDICTION: Best case scenario, it will sideswipe Sierra Brook. It will most likely jump S860. From there it will likely burn upwards of 10,000 acres before the 2020 Loyalton Fire scar stalls it.

I believe that those spot fires presently crossing the flat are going to be in better alignment with the wind as they climb the next slope.
