Air attack is getting busy on the SE corner of the fire. 5 helicopters dropping just north of Stumpy Meadows Lake and the two scoopers filling at Union Valley Reservoir area back and working the same area. Anyone no if they’re filling the type 1 helicopters with retardant at Georgetown Airport?

Only MRB is at Georgetown Airport.

Asking if a feller/buncher is comfortable felling 8 year old snags. That’s nasty business indeed!

There is also an MRB now at Blue Canyon Airport. It currently has low visibility due to smoke and won’t be used until conditions improve

I thought Air Ops said in the briefing this morning that there were two MRBs, one at G’town and one at Blue Canyon?

Blue Canyon Airport is being used as a Helibase and also has an MRB. The MRB became operational yesterday, but has not been used yet.

VLATs and LATs working a contingency line near Div Hotel, North of Foresthill Rd, near China Wall

Also looks like Helco was looking at the burn operation around Big Trees. Heard radio traffic that everything was looking good, fire blowing in on itself and half of the target area burned. Unsure if this was the same location

They REALLY want to make sure it doesn’t get into the NF American. Anywhere in that canyon would be a real problem, especially near Giant Gap

HELCO and all copters up are outbound and off fire.

Looks like he’s lining up T103 and has T132 inbound for the last drop of the night.
Good work indeed

Edit: 19:16, Lead plane bringing T210 in for the last drop of the night

Sounds like AA was over Div B or C and saying everything looks good for tonight, asked if it’s plumbed up the hill from the river. Sounds like he’s confident with the wind direction, and that they may tie that piece in tonight.
I hope he’s right
