CA-YNP-Washburn?

During the video brief you posted, Iron Creek is an area of concern, so I hope they can stay on top of the problem.

Fire activity is picking up again.

It’s very much on their radar and a big priority

Seems very likely to me that Iron Creek is a goner. Fire has been spreading 1/2 to almost a mile up-canyon every day, mainly from spotting, and once it crosses, it will have alignment with upcanyon winds and slope to quickly become established onto the east side of the creek.
Red perimeter is 2300 IR from 9/13/2022.
White line is 24h spread. Blue lines 48, 72, 96hrs.

So looking at outstanding resources im assuming feds are shopping these overhead to Maine and back before CFAA for them? There has got to be 6 FOBS available somewhere right?

They need to fix the title… Lol. I tried to report it but couldn’t find anywhere to let them know.

Not sure it’s a celebratory milestone or anything but the first drop for Coulson’s new 737 was today on this fire.

Reply to: DirtTower on repeaters…
If your a service monitor/test set trained technician and tested the Daniels Repeaters… it takes many of those to make a safe wide area coverage communications system with those. When I requested them I would start with 6 (I think order#4290) repeaters with links and I would get a call from Sacramento office or Boise criticizing my order. Which would delay them shipping on a chartered flight. Trust the field COML’s. As long the fire lines/box holds at this point, why place them out.

Excellent summary of the community meeting last night by CA Fire Scanner on Twitter

#WashburnFire (Yosemite NP) - From the community conference: the line around the Mariposa Grove & out to Hwy 41 is holding very well, still mopping up. 16 small spot fires were across Hwy 41 in the past few days & those are all contained & being mopped up.

#WashburnFire (Yosemite NP) - The Hwy 41 road system to Stud Horse Trail is looking very well. All of the sport fires to the north of the river are contained. There is less & less heat every day along the S-F-M-R on the western end of the fire.

#WashburnFire (Yosemite NP) - [Their internet turns to shit around here] still a lot of heat along the S-F-M-R on the eastern end of the fire. Inserted a crew via helicopter to a remote cabin in the Buck Creek area incase fire spreads that way, prepping around the structure.

#WashburnFire (Yosemite NP) - The fire continues to move east & spot ahead, advancing approx 1/2-3/4 of a mile a day consistently. Currently .2-.3 of a mile away from Iron Creek. They have 7 hot shot crews on that far eastern end of the fire (140 hot shots).

#WashburnFire (Yosemite NP) - The ridge east of Wawona Point > Raymond Mtn continues to hold well, 100 hot shots in there now & anticipate calling that piece contained in ~48 hours. FF’s continue to clean up around Mariposa Grove & the grove itself remains in a very good place.

#WashburnFire (Yosemite NP) - Also: likely will be able to repopulate Wawona (residents & property owners only) on Sunday morning, this is still under assessment & requires hazards to be mitigated first. That time frame is their best estimate. Likely more info on Sat morning.

Crappy reporting. The threat to the Mariposa Grove is over. If she is talking about other places nearby sequoia could burn, she should tell us where they are or what scenario puts them at risk…

Maybe the cams are out of orientation but I cannot see any fire activity. I’m assuming iron creek is holding ? Anyone heard anything?
