Anyone have a list of the additional CDCR Camps being closed ?
I heard Delta in LNU is getting the axe. That’s all.

Norco CC as well
CSR Camps
La Cima
Norco
Mt Bullion
Don’t know about CNR camps
Additionally, remaining CDCD & CCC Camps are being
“right sized” to account for the addition/subtraction of crews.
How many Captain positions will this affect?
RRU & SDU eliminates 19 FCB.
However, nobody is losing their job.
Surplus FC vacancies list and AAV Bidding delayed till 10/13-11/12 with displaced FCB bidding in their new position and beginning to working 1/19/26 in the new position.
Somewhere around 30-40.
Fire Capt. Hiring has been on hold until the FC-B select their locations and spots get filled.. After all spots have been filled, then Fire Capt. Hiring will resume. They all have a list of the vacancies within the state they can put their name in for, state Service will determine who gets those spots if multiple people select the same locations. Like the previous post stated, Jan. 19 is the closing dates. My assumption is the transfers will take place before that date.
The 2 CDCR camps in the North are Parlin and Alder.
Not true. Increasing size to accommodate two additional crews. CF Camp person
What camp? All camps? More info, please.
They are going to be going to 12 captains per CDCR camps. We are not losing any positions we are actually gain positions. Unfortunately for the camps that are closing they have to move work locations with all the units having so many openings it shouldn’t effect those folks to much thankfully.
Except if your a captain in your home unit and your losing your livelihood.
How do you figure someone is losing their livelihood no one is losing their job. Ya some people unfortunately might have to work somewhere in the unit that they dont want as much as camp i get it.
Some people displaced will also lose their FC-B wages unless they get placed into a FC-B position.
Livelihood not a choice word to describe the change, sure. You’re still being paid, less 10% and pensionable but, you still got a great job.
Maybe not what a tenured fire captain wanted growing there family thru the ranks, but yes, you take the states money, you do what the state says.
I would think on a scale level, the effect on a community and family matters, it’s affected a little bit more than minimal. Firewood programs for seniors and like, cemetery maintenance, vegetation maintenance, flood response with sandbag assistance, plenty of contributions from the camps and benefit for small towns and rural counties across California where it will be felt.
The depopulation of camps is a by-product of POLITICS.
California in the 1990 instituted 3-strike laws and total inmate population peaked at over 150,000 total inmates system wide (camp, & institution)
Then over crowding and federal lawsuits and finally Covid-19 emptied almost 90,000 inmates. The 30-40 FCB losing their 10% pales in comparison to the 100’s if not 1,000 CDCR officers losing their jobs. Take a look at what has.happened to Susanville since High Desert has closed, Blythe since Chucawalla has closed or whats left of the community of Eagle Mountain since the closing of Eagle Mountain.
The bright side of this Political Quagmire is nobody is losing their job and declaring unemployment. They will just lose their 10%
Here is the root of the problem. Society and Personal Decisions has created a scenario where 10% can make/break a person/family.
Where is the Personal Responsibility that something as small as 10% can make or break a person.
Eagle Mountain was never a true CDC facility, was private
Its been shut down for probably 15 years
Most of it burned a year or two ago.
Blythe is not far behind however
So much crazy history in little old middle of nowhere Eagle Mountain.
Yup
I remember when Station 80 was there
Was out there filming a movie and sad to see how much its fallen into disrepair for everything
Sta 49 is getting a nice now station however
People and famalies can get absolutely rocked by tragedy and end up where they took the 10% to try and hang on. Tough call judging on what you dont know.
I do not disagree woth you’re statement. However, anyone who lives that close to the edge that 10% is the make/break has substantially larger issues.
