There is a new system they’re rolling out to ‘fix’ VIPR, but it isn’t working, I hear, and so people are stuck with rolling over their previous 3 year(?) agreements. It sounds like this is hosing people who’ve bought new equipment on the assumption they’d be able to sign it up in the new contract window, and now are not able to add new pieces of equipment, and can only substitute new VINS for agreements they had in place in the previous cycle? (e.g. if you had 2 WTs on contract for 2022-2025 but bought a third, you can only sub it in for one of your existing ones, not add it as a new item).
I believe this applies to both water handling (engines and tenders) and heavy equipment like dozers. Feel free to correct me if I’m getting this wrong.
I’m not surprised, when I was LSC1 on Fed Team 5 in the 90s and early 2000s most all of my Unit Leaders were KRN. I’ll bet every CA Fed team has KRN on them and 7 of the 8 CA Fed Teams are in OR/WA (R6)
Hearing from crediable sources , fires are being told they are unable to order viper equipment from reigon 5. Anyone hearing this as well or have further info ?
Type 2 initial Attack, just a step below Hot Shots on the Fed side. It’s all based on supervision quals on the crew. Example if an IHC looses a Cpt. on the crew they would be statused as a Type 2 IA
ALCo sent their crew 8 out today. Maybe sent as ST with CoCo crew 12
Also, ALCo OES TF-2801 being demob’d from Oregon to be reassigned WA. Spokane area.
