Could Someone Guide me with the Information on Recent Wildfire Activity?

Hello there,

I am reaching out to gather information about recent wildfire activity in California & Hawaii. As a concerned resident and someone who values community safety; I am eager to understand the current situation and any updates regarding containment efforts.

Could anyone provide details on the size and exact location of the wildfires currently active in California & Hawaii? Understanding the proximity to populated ;areas would be particularly helpful.

What strategies are being employed to contai;n these fires? Are there any challenges or obstacles that firefighting teams are encountering?

Has there been any issuance of evacuation notices or warnings for residents in nearby communities? It would be reassuring to know how local authorities are managing potential risks to public safety.

How can individuals contribute to supporting firefighting efforts or assisting affected communities? Are there specific resources or volunteer opportunities that community members can participate in?

Also; I have gone through this post; https://forums.wildfireintel.org/t/instructions-to-find-iap-and-maps-for-most-incidents-sap which definitely helped me out a lot.

Based on current assessments; what are the expectations for the coming ;days in terms of weather conditions and their potential impact on fire behavior?

Thank you in advance for your assistance and help.

Each fire has two types of threads, and IA or Initial Attack thread and Questions and Discussion thread. The IA thread will have the most current information about acreage, evacuation updates, incident briefings, most current footprints from the mapping aircraft, etc. The Q and D threads are for discussing incident information, asking questions about what types of equipment are assigned, incident questions such as where is the Command Post or Incident Base located, etc.

If you have specific questions about what an incident is doing, you are more than welcome to ask in the Q&D threads and see what responses you will get and from there you can always ask follow up questions.

Since you are new here, there will be a lot of information moving pretty quickly right now because of the recent lightning activity in the central part of the State as well as the new fire in the Oroville area. Don’t worry if you cannot keep all of it straight right away, even the regulars and the mod team get misplaced occasionally.

Welcome in and take a moment to get accustomed to the information flow and perhaps your original thoughts will become a little easier for you. We are all here to help out including the Mod Team

If you have not looked at it before, check out the National Incident Management Situation Report (IMSR) which summarizes fire activity nationally and lists large fires by geographic areas and has a weather outlook:

For daily summaries of fire potential, both North Ops (ONCC) and South Ops (OSCC), the two Geographic Area Cooordination Centers (GACCs) that cover California, Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands, produce excellent daily webcasts. ONCC is the GACC that covers Hawaii.
