The FireGuard which has grown from a CA pilot project to other western states is under threat of expiration. Would be a huge loss.
$4.2 million sounds like a real bargain. They need to make this permanent. The line of data availability all the time and physical engagement of firefighting as needed by the military can be drawn to make it happen.
Or a cost share between the states and USDA/DOI.
Based on the cost of what we spend annually on fires this is like a rounding error, change between the cushions etc
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lets see an Air Force C17 heavy lifter cost $350 million how about parking one for a few years? same thing with the stupid stupid stupid comments we can not get JP4 to fuel the fire fighting planes?? You are kidding right?
How about comparing the 4.5 million cost to the $$$$ billions in structures/house that have been destroyed? oh well
A bit of good news this was extended for this fire season
