We will use this tread for the discussion of the LNU August 2020 Lightning Complex South which will include the Hennessey and Mark Fires, along with any new South Zone fires that may get put in.
Is the Mark fire the one approaching Vacaville?
I believe so. Couple of spots right across the 80 from Vacaville and Fairfield.

No, what is impacting Vacaville and along Pleasants Valley Road, is the Hennessey Fire. The Hennessey swept by the Mark Fire late last night and came across the top of Blue Ridge and down into the Pleasants Valley, Gordon Valley and NE Vacaville.
Asking for retardant drops now for the sub divisions in that area.
Thanks - trying to separate radio traffic and status posts from afar!
It’s tough even being a native of the area of the Hennessey.
any idea comm plan for hennessey, NE vacaville? trying to monitor structure impacts in that area
Just a point of reference for the Pena Adobe camera, it is located on the SE side of I80 and is currently looking at the fire backing down that slope on the N side of 80. As of this moment, there is nothing across 80 to the south. They are working to keep it that way but time will tell. Visibility and aircraft availability are not on anyone’s side at the moment.
Pena Adobe Camera is the base of the red arrow, facing that direction.
AA is putting extra eyes a couple miles down I-80
Pretty dense subdivisions.
Hennessey Radio Plan
Command: CDF Command 12
Tactical: NIFC Tac 5; NIFC Tac 6; NIFC Tac 7; CDF Tac 24
Fire jumped 80, potential for 1,000 acres. Requested full air response.
In the area between Vacaville and Fairfield.
I80 closed in the area
Fire is running hard in the grass on the Pena Adobe Cam, check out the 15 minute time lapse. Looks to be pushing hard to the East.
Pena Adobe Cam shows fire is in the flats at Lagoon Valley Rd, making a push to east. If it keeps pushing east it could impact the west side of Vacaville. Hopefully they can get some drops on it.
Mount Vaca8 camera
That camera was overrun last night, that was the last shot before it perished.
Sweet burn out op on the Pena cam right now.
KSBW news alert says Travis AFB is being evacuated. Wow!
