Yesterdays big run was on the north side of the rio mora within the lines burning back into the main burn.

A couple images from last night’s IR. The big 6/13 run kept going toward the top of the crest, and there are some areas of intense heat showing in previously-burned high-country 3 and 5 miles of Angostura.

Flood Advisory issued June 16 at 6:33PM MDT until June 16 at 9:30PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

  • WHAT…Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
    rainfall is expected near the headwaters of the Pecos River,
    including Cowles and Tererro.

  • WHERE…Portions of north central and northeast New Mexico,
    including the following counties, in north central New Mexico,
    Santa Fe. In northeast New Mexico, Mora and San Miguel.

  • WHEN…Until 930 PM MDT.

  • IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…

  • At 633 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This is causing arroyo and small stream
    flooding. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  • Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are
    expected over the area. This additional rain will result in
    minor flooding.
  • Some locations that will experience flooding include…
    Pecos, Cowles and Tererro.
  • This includes the following recreation areas…
    Field Tract Campground, Holy Ghost Campground, Iron Gate
    Campground, Jacks Creek Campground, Panchuela Campground,
    Willow Creek Campground, Bert Clancy Wildlife Area, Mora
    River Picnic Area and Lisboa Springs Fish Hatchery.
